M twin power turbo motor oil, specifically for only n/a engines. The new stuff is by shell as they've partnered with BMW. Old stuff was by castrol. It's not any cheaper but I'm interested in trying it. I've had good luck with shell in my subys, so this might do some good too. Probably the best looking oil quart container I've ever seen, nice shiny and reflective.

I’d be interested in trying it if I were you. What are the odds that someone likes the packaging so much they put it in their Civic? Moar power?

Which BMW recommends this? I’ve got a ‘14 and it recommends Castrol.

It recommends Castrol because Castrol was paying them a good chunk of money to recommend them. Unless you have an M car, you really just need an oil with a specification from this list: http://www.oilspecifications.org/bmw.php

If you have an M car, there are specific, usually very expensive, oils that your engine calls for, stick with them. I assume there is now a Shell version of whatever the special Castrol oil was for the M cars, but I don’t know for sure.

Go to the dealer and BMW will be putting in shell now. They switched company wide.

Seized bearings and a rod through their hood along with worse gas mileage. 10w-60 is some thick ass shit. Good news is it wouldn't burn any more oil.

O’Reilly Auto Parts still has the Castrol Edge TWS 10W-60 for $12.99 a quart. My last oil change I had to have it shipped (free shipping yay!) but I just checked and my local stores all have it on the shelf. Might be time to stock up.

I’m still under factory warranty but liqui-moly is good stuff. I use it on my car in Europe that sometimes sits for 3 years at a time and it still is in good shape when I go to change it.

BMW ///M motor oil. Also used in ferraris I believe good at handling heat.

No auto parts store has it here but I ordered the whole kit (oem filter, plugs, gasket, oil) for $135 at Ecs tuning. I can't complain as the local dealer charges $280.

dang... I paid $3.49 a quart for Valvoline full synth on sale at Napa a few months ago, (but it wasn’t 10/60...)
